Taylor McCluskey was born in Auburn and raised in Sacramento, California. He began acting at a very young age, training with Ed Claudio and appearing in various plays and modeling in print advertisements.
Throughout high school, Taylor became an accomplished athlete, rowing for Capital Crew. At the age of 18, he booked his first national commercial for Nestea. He moved to Los Angeles in 2002 to pursue his career in acting after winning a talent competition in Universal City, CA with The Burton Group.
He moved to Sunset and Larrabee in West Hollywood to begin his journey as an actor. Studied with Howard Fine and Margie Haber in scene study then Meisner Technique with DW Brown at The Joanna Baron and DW Brown Studio. He studied film at UCLA while interning at Handmade Films. As a student, he worked on numerous film and TV projects to gain as much hands-on knowledge of the industry as he could. In addition to acting, he began developing and producing films, including his first documentary film called LEGENDS, shot in the renowned Therein & Co. on La Cienega Blvd, in which he interviewed the top interior designers of the world and cast light on the legendary Turnabout Theater.
His artistic passion also extends to the world of music. He is the founding member of The Maddest Of Madmen and The MFICs, in which he was the lead singer, guitarist and chief songwriter. His current group is self-titled. He produced White Light, Dark Horse, Climbing The Hill, Amen, New Light, Static In Her Head, Wild Rid, Bang Bang (My Fires For You), Eternal Love, Stronger Together, and coming soon Reckless. He directed and produced all live shows and music videos for The Maddest Of Madmen, The MFICs and Taylor McCluskey. His music is prominently featured on the soundtrack of the skateboarding film, WE ARE SKATEBOARDERS, directed by Ben Duffy.
Taylor trained with Grandmaster William Chung and Si-Fu Eric Oram alongside the finest Wing Chun Kung-Fu students in the world at the LA Wing Chun Academy. Taylor credits Wing Chun for strengthening his life, both personally and professionally. He's also a TM Mediation enthusiast and practices daily.
As an actor, he's worked with directors such as Michael Bay and J.J. Abrams; as a musician, he has been featured in POWEREDGE Magazine and on Current TV, and has amassed thousands of fans around the world; as a producer, he worked with up-and-coming writer/director William Dickerson on a feature called THE MIRROR, a film in which he also stars. In "Don't Look Back" produced by Marvista and directed by William Dickerson. Taylor's song "Sweetest Angels" made its first film score presentation and he played Peyton's Lover. Taylor's short film and feature script called "Greenback$" with comedian Jud Travis will be coming soon. Bang Bang (My Fire's For You) single and music video. Taylor covered Tiger Man that was modeled off of Elvis 1968 Comeback Tour performance. He teamed up with William Dickerson on his latest feature film "No Alternative" playing Trevor Underwood, an Atlantic Records A&R Executive. Taylor is also developing two TV shows and 2 feature films in Montreal, Canada with TaylorMade Films.
Taylor and Glen Robinson co-produced his latest release Eternal Love album and Stronger Together single. Taylor and Glen are finishing up his brand new Reckless album dropping on August 4th, 2017 through Taylor McCluskey Music.
Taylor won "Best Actor" for his performance in Greenback$ at the 2017 IFS Independent Filmmaker Showcase in Los Angeles. He's producing and starring in three upcoming projects called The Ghost Town Experiment, Greenback$ and Builder of Dreams: William Randolph Hearst, Julia Morgan, And The Construction of San Simeon through TaylorMade Films.
